Mario's Picross is one of the weirdest games I got for my Game Boy and I'll tell you why. If not for the low price for this game I wouldn't have gotten it. I saw it at Toys R Us for $19.99, it was a good deal I couldn't resist. I didn't know what the hell picross was but since the game had Mario in it I decided to buy the game.

Picross is a game like sort of like minesweeper. But instead of avoiding the mines you are trying to build a picture using the clues provided. The clues around the box are numbers that help you with the puzzle. The numbers mean how many of the squares will be shaded in. The clues on the top and the side will help determine how the picture will look like. You are only allowed a certain amount of time in your picross game, if you make a mistake you will be deducted time. When your time runs out you lose and will have to start all over again.

The graphics in Mario's Picross are fairly simple, since Picross is a simple game. When playing on a Super Game Boy there are some nice colors and graphics thanks to the enhancements. This game is still very playable on any other Game Boys such as Pocket or Color.

The sound and music in Mario's Picross are pretty average. It's not really good nor really bad, it just isn't your regular Mario music though.

The gameplay is pretty much horrendous. The controls are easy to use and all but the game of picross tends to get annoying after awhile and the puzzles are extremely hard. After playing this game for awhile you would want to go back to the Game Boy regulars like Tetris.

Overall, Mario's Picross is a bad game. I don't know why it's bad, but maybe I think picross is dumb. I don't like picross and suck at it, that's why this game sucked in my opinion. If you still believe me, do not get this game you will regret it.

Bottom Line: Mario's Picross is a game that would be pretty fun for the first 5 minutes of gameplay, after that, it's time to throw it in the trash.
