Game and Watch Gallery is a collection of 4 of the original Game and Watch games released way back. In Game and Watch games there isn't really a point. You had to score as high points as possible. This collection of games is similar to Tetris in a way because you cannot really "beat" the game. You just play the games to your ability and have fun. Game and Watch Gallery is probably best for car rides, because it gets pretty boring after riding for a long time.

Game and Watch Gallery has great support for Super Game Boy. As you can see from these screenshots there are SGB enhancements such as the border and 4 colours in the game screen. But when playing this game on Game Boy Color it's not as well as it is on SGB. GBC doesn't really enhance this game at all.

The graphics in this are really not bad. Mario and friends look pretty good in this game. A good thing Nintendo did is to simplify the graphics so there isn't a big blob when looking on the screen. As you know Super Game Boy can display 4 colours on the screen at one time. When looking at the screenshots it doesn't look like that there are only 4 colours on the screen.

The sound effects were not bad. The music wasn't really that good because it would start to get annoying after a little bit. As for sound effects there isn't really much except maybe that "boing" you will always hear.

For those that like the original Game and Watch games but either sold them or lost them this is a great time for you. In Game and Watch Gallery there's a mode where you can play the original versions of those games. The original versions have the exact graphics as the G&W games but may have been modified a bit due to screen restraints.

There are 4 different games in Game and Watch Gallery. The games are Manhole, Fire, Octopus, and Oil Panic. In Manhole you have to cover the holes so the people won't fall down. In Fire you have to bounce the people jumping down and get them into the car. In Octopus you have to go down and get treasure before the octopus gets you. And in Oil Panic you have to capture drops of oil and give them to your partner.

If you like the Game and Watch games you'll certainly drool over this because there's the modern and classic modes. But if you simple like mini-games this one's fun for you as well. So either way you'll love playing Game and Watch Gallery.

Bottom Line: Game and Watch Gallery is a fun game to play. But if you are a die-hard Game and Watch fan you should get this game and G&WG2 and later on G&WG3.
