Future Shop still has the awesome deal!
Posted on August 23, 2002 @ 2:06 PM EDT by: Hairball
It seemed like Future Shop wasn't offering Luigi's Mansion for free with Super Mario Sunshine anymore, but actually they still are. As advertised in The Toronto Star, Future Shop will be throwing in not just Luigi's Mansion, but a Mario backpack as well! All that with the purchase of Super Mario Sunshine, which will be available in stores on August 27!

We aren't sure if this applies only in the Toronto area, but other stores in Canada may be offering the same freebies. You'll have to check with your local stores for more details.

Nintendo Breaks Guinness World Record...for Pasta!
Posted on August 22, 2002 @ 3:55 PM EDT by: Hairball
As a celebration for the upcoming release of Super Mario Sunshine, which comes out on August 26. Nintendo broke the Guinness World Record for The Largest Bowl of Pasta. Nintendo surpassed the previous Guinness World Records of 2,564 pounds (1165 kg) of pasta by more than 700 pounds, Nintendo served up 3,265 pounds (1484 kg) of pasta and now holds the Guinness World Record. The record holding pasta was held in a three-foot high and ten feet wide bowl.

Once the record was authenticated, six Nintendo fans all dressed as Mario, took a "delicio dive" into the delectable spaghetti to find Nintendo prizes, including a grand-prize trip to Hawaii.

Now if they only don't dispose of all that pasta in the ocean...

With my limited Japanese skillz, it says (from right to left):

And even one with Shigeru Miyamoto's autograph on it? Well you might want to check out this eBay auction Nintendo of Canada is holding. They are selling Super Mario Sunshine with Mr. Miyamoto's autograph on it, and plus, you get the game before it's August 27 release date.

However, this is only open to Canadians, like me. Hehehe. As of right now, the two copies are at $300 CDN each.

Proceeds from this auction go to Starlight Children's Foundation Canada!
