Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga... Secret Battle with Wario!

It has been discovered that another archnemesis of Mario can be found in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga for the Game Boy Advance. The ever-so greedy and evil Wario makes his appearance in Bowser's Castle, the final destination in the game, and challenges Mario and Luigi to a battle. M&L: SS has been released for almost about a year and a half, and there have been no known secrets to date.

At the moment, Nintendo has refused to comment on this discovery. According to sources, there may be other secret characters or items that have yet to been found.

After completing the unlocking task, Wario will be waiting for Mario and Luigi outside the main entrance to Bowser's Castle. When Wario appears, he will have a brief conversation with Mario and Luigi before the battle begins. It is not possible to avoid Wario, once you encounter him, you must take accept his challenge.

Defeating Wario in the subsequent battle will reward Mario and Luigi with 1000 coins, however if you lose, there is no penalty. Once you've fought Wario, win or lose he will leave, and will not reappear in the current game file, in order to see Wario again you must start a new game file.

To reach Wario's secret battle, you must have completed enough of the game that you have reached Bowser's Castle, however there is no other requirement, such as the character level or possession of certain badges.

A score of 600 in the Star 'Stache Smash game found at the game arcade in Little Fungitown is required to trigger the appearance of Wario. There are only 60 seconds in the game, it takes a lot of practice and it is rather difficult to achieve such a score. Once the score is reached, simply head off to Bowser's Castle, and Wario will be waiting for you...
